Health and Safety Under Review
Government has now published details of its review into Health and Safety Legislation. Chris Grayling MP has commissioned an independent review which will be chaired by Professor Ragnar Lofstedt, who will be supported by a panel of MP’s, legal specialists and business people.
This review will look at:

Whether the requirements of EU directives are being “Gold Plated” on translation into UK law

Comparing our Health and Safety with other countries
-
Clear links between Health and Safety regulations and safety outcomes

Whether changes are needed to clarify the legal position
-
Scope for simplifying or abolishing regulations
Of course all this will take time the report is not due until the autumn and it could take months or even years for any changes to take place, in our view any review to find improvements is welcomed.
